On behalf of the Sudanese communities and the members of the Samuel Nursery here in Cairo, I would like to express my gratefulness for the honorable assistance you contribute to help the distressed Sudanese Children in the remote area of arba'a Wanos- in Great Cairo, in the field of Education. In fact your subsidy that our Nursery has been receiving… has helped a lot in the continuity of the learning operation. Without your subsidy it would be difficult for the nursery to continue up to now.

“During the Hash event Operation Smile Egypt collected 23,221 LE (4,152 US dollars) which is enough money to give 17 children the chance at a new life and a whole new reason to smile.
I want to thank Fenneke for generously doubling the amount she made selling bags and aprons and donating the proceeds of the sales of that day to Operation Smile.
She donated over 3,000 LE thank you thank you. She has also agreed to
continue to donate the sales of the bags at The Hash House Harriers to Operation Smile for the foreseeable future which is very generous of her.

Empowering women and children is a focal point for us, and we want to ensure that these people develop sustainable skills that will assist them far into the future:
|
| Women in Moqattam |
These ladies who live in garbage city, a destitute area of Moqattam in Egypt, sew bags and aprons. They are paid a premium per item that is sewn. Proceeds from sales pay their salaries and have covered the costs of three additional sewing machines, a cutting machine and an industrial ironing board.
Aim: we would like to eventually establish a centre dedicated entirely to the training and development of women in Moqattam.
|
| Sudanese Refugees in Nasr City |
Currently two classrooms of children, around 60 toddlers in total, are supported. The salaries of the teachers, rent and electricity of the classrooms are paid by Eboo. In addition, desks, chairs and bookshelves have been installed to aid learning.
Aim: To buy property to ensure that these classrooms remain permanent fixtures where children can learn and develop for many years to come. Other items that need to be purchased is an extra mattress on which the toddlers can sleep, cribs for the 0-1 year olds as well as blackboards and school supplies.

| Operation Smile |
Money is donated on a regular basis to Operation Smile which is a non-profit organization. Operation Smile offers free surgeries for children with cleft palates.

| Amalna Orphanage for Abandoned Girls in Nasr City |
This is a home for Egyptian girls who have been abandoned by their parents or are orphans. There are currently eight girls. We assist by supplementing meals and clothes where needed, as well as any extras that are required. |
| We try not to give actual cash to these causes, but instead help people to help themselves. |
